In this past year of the Language Arts class I have learned many things that will help me become a better writer in further day life. My favorite piece that I wrote was a fiction piece. I think I have dramatically changed in writing. What we had to focus on during our fiction piece was create characters internal and external features, creating the way the character moves, and we wrote detailed settings. We also had to focus on the characters hopes wants or desires. We also had to create an obstacle for the character. Create a climax, and last but not least conclusion (resolution).
My writing piece was called Billy. I really enjoyed writing this year because it was a lot easier with the tips Mrs. Bubalis taught us. I personally think I have improved tremendously this year compared the beginning of the year. What I need to improve on is my writing details and slowing my action down.
In conclusion I have learned a lot from this year of writing then the beginning of the year.
Billy (Excerpt)
When he got to the Broadway auditions he went to the dressing room (which was really just an old room behind the stage) and got his ballet shoes on, there were a lot of other boys there but none of them were ballet dancers. He was on in five minutes. He stretched as he was waiting. He was on stage he was in no time. He was as sweaty as a pig because he was so nervous. He gave it his best. He saw Sarah, his dance teacher, and his family out in the audience. After he danced he went back stage to hear the results. At the end “Billy will you please come out” The judges called. Billy walked out even sweatier than he was before. “You made it in Billy.”
Billy stood on stage paralyzed in happiness. The comments were “You did well a couple of mistakes but we definitely see potential a few more lessons and you will be more places than you can believe”.
The next day he went to school everyone said congrats to Billy for his success. Mike came behind Billy and still showed no respect. Sarah came up behind him and said “well think of it this way now if they bother you and you become famous you can use your body guards.”
“Huh ya I guess” Billy laughed.
From here on Billy had gotten more classes from famous ballet dancers, and he had gotten more technique became famous. Billy and Sarah still have a crush on each other. As Billy becomes famous so does Sarah they go to perform at ballet plays with each other.
